Prior to starting the application procedure, ensure that you and your partner fulfil every eligibility criteria. The procedure will require the submission of these two applications altogether: Your spouse/common-law partner’s PR application and your application to sponsor your spouse/common-law partner. Steps to apply for a Canada Spouse Visa: 1. Get the application package on the government site. 2. Pay the visa application fee that includes biometrics fees, right of PR fee, and processing fees for everybody included in the application. 3. Submission of the application. 4. Submission of the necessary documents. A Canada Spouse Visa application can take about 12 months to get processed. To prove that your relationship with your spouse is legitimate, you will have to provide documents like relationship details, evidence of mutual expenses, etc.
